Biography
Prior to joining Kienbaum Opperwall Hardy & Pelton as Of Counsel in 2002, Ms. Boyle served as a Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court from 1983 through 1998. She had been appointed to the Supreme Court by the Governor to fill a vacancy in 1983, was elected to the Court in 1986, and was again re-elected in 1990. She had previously served as a Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan from 1978 to 1983, and as a Judge of the Detroit Recorder’s Court from 1976 to 1978. Before undertaking these judicial offices, Ms. Boyle held positions with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Detroit.

She received both her undergraduate and law degrees from Wayne State University. She is a member of numerous professional, judicial, and civic organizations, and is a life member of the NAACP and an inductee into the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame.
